How the mechanic works
- Each level contributes two protection points against fire damage, equal to 8% reduction before the shared cap.
- The highest Fire Protection level worn reduces burn duration by 15% per level.
- Its damage protection can stack across armor pieces, but the burn-duration bonus uses only the highest level worn.
Affected blocks and drops
- All armor pieces
- Fire, lava, campfires, magma blocks and burning projectiles
- Does not make the wearer completely fireproof
How to obtain
- Enchant compatible equipment at an enchanting table.
- Apply a matching enchanted book at an anvil.
