Effect by level
| Level | Effect | Expected multiplier |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | About 30 seconds of air; 50% chance to preserve air per check | Varies by mechanic |
| 2 | About 45 seconds; 67% chance per check | Varies by mechanic |
| 3 | About 60 seconds; 75% chance per check | Varies by mechanic |
How the mechanic works
- Each level adds 15 seconds to the usual 15-second underwater air supply, producing about 30, 45 or 60 seconds before drowning begins.
- On each air-consumption check, level n succeeds in preserving air with probability n divided by n plus one.
- It does not provide underwater vision or mining speed; those are separate mechanics.
Affected blocks and drops
- Helmets and turtle shells
- Underwater air depletion
- Drowning is delayed, not permanently prevented
How to obtain
- Enchant compatible equipment at an enchanting table.
