How to use the Rail Line Planner

Measure the route length in rail positions.
Choose a powered-rail spacing suited to flat track, slopes and cart load.
Collect the calculated powered and regular rail totals, then test a short section.

Formula and game rule

Powered rails = floor((route length−1) ÷ spacing)+1 for a non-empty route. Remaining positions use regular rails.

A 100-block line with one powered rail every eight positions uses 13 powered rails and 87 regular rails.

What to check before using the result

This is a spacing planner, not a claim that one spacing works for every slope, start or loaded cart.
Detector rails, activator rails, corners and station mechanisms replace some planned positions.
